NSU is planning our 17th annual mission to the rural areas of Jamaica. The purpose of this mission will be to provide essential medical services.

Our Story

On behalf of the Nova Southeastern University College of Medicine (NSU/COM) and the Women of Health Occupations Promoting Education (H.O.P.E.), we would like to take the opportunity to introduce our International Medical Missions Program. We are a non-profit, all volunteer organization consisting of physicians, medical students, dentists, nurses, optometrists, pharmacists, occupational therapist, physical therapist and other healthcare providers. Our primary goal is to provide much needed healthcare to underserved communities here in South Florida, as well as isolated indigent communities in the Caribbean and Latin America.

As part of our ongoing commitment to these communities, we are planning our 17th annual mission to the rural areas of Jamaica. The purpose of these missions will be to provide essential medical services to those areas in critical need of quality medical and dental care, health awareness education, pediatric care, and various other health related services.

As healthcare professionals we carry a responsibility that extends much further than boundaries of our own community. Daily we are challenged to be attentive and responsive to the needs of those who have little or no access to quality healthcare. The members of the mission teams are not monetarily compensated for their hard work, but graciously give of their time for this worthy cause.
